How to Ski At Jackson Hole for $25

Every year Jackson Hole tries to break the record for the most people skiing in jeans. Ski in Jeans Day at Jackson Hole is one of those days where the conditions don’t matter and you are guaranteed to have a good time with friends. This was my second year participating in this amazing event, and it never seems to get old.

For everyone who just came to this post for the details, here are the details.

The lift ticket for the entire day was $27, but they sell out very quickly so you have to go fast. No, you don’t have to ski in jeans but if you don’t ski in jeans you will feel left out and disappointed in yourself. For housing, 15 of my friends and I booked an AirBnb in Driggs and it ended up coming out to about $25 a night once the cost was split. Gas to come from Pocatello in my clapped out Chevy Colorado was $25 each way, and the drive was easy. Parking was $35 but we only paid that because we were feeling boujee. You can find free parking at the bottom of the hill and take the shuttle up, plan this part out before you drive up to the resort. For food, we cooked cost effective meals as a group. In total, I spent about $120 for a weekend of skiing at one of the most baller resorts in the United States.

The morning started off with my friend Malachi and I figuring out how to look as dumb as possible in our jeans and ski gear. Pro tip, put your jeans over your ski bibs and you will be A LOT warmer. Once we got dressed we collected our tickets and hopped on the gondola at about 8:30am. We had low expectations for the skiing, since Jackson Hole was definitely lacking in snow. We were pleasantly greeted with more runs than we expected and a great time with friends. Not to mention you get a free bandana for participating in this legendary event.

Group runs were pure bliss and the views were incredible. Everyone was having a great time except for my friend Malachi. He wanted to look at the trees and the local wildlife so he took a little trip off trail that didn’t go very well. When the conditions are like this, it’s better to stay on the trail. I told him that and he didn’t listen, the excitement to see the trees closer got to him! Anyways, we carried on with the day and had a blast. The lift lines weren’t bad at all as well, so we were just going lap after lap. The conditions slowly started getting a little icy so we hung out in the Jackson Hole village while Malachi rested up. There was lots of booths and life music to keep us occupied when we weren’t skiing.

To close out the day Malachi, my friend Jack, and I headed to the mechanical bull. Jack had also crashed hard, so both of my friends were walking like they fell down a flight of stairs. Non the less, we rode the MECHANICAL BISON and had the best time ever. If you and your friends are looking for a guaranteed awesome ski weekend, buy a ticket to participate in one of the most legendary events ever created in skiing. If you can’t go, you lose $25. If you can go, you gain some memories that will last forever.

Thankyou to everyone who showed up and made this a blast. See y’all next year!
